Submit a Welcome to Michigan event

Using UM*Events

In an effort to reduce duplication of resources and to promote the central UM*Events website to new students as a primary source of campus activities, Welcome to Michigan events will now be submitted directly to UM*Events. If you have never used this site before, here are the steps to submit your event:

 

  1. Browse to http://events.umich.edu/.
     
  2. Select Login from the left-side menu or Become a Sponsor if you have never submitted an event to UM*Events before (under "Month View").
     
  3. After you have created an account and authenticated, select "Add an Event".
     
  4. Enter your event information. Be sure to check the "Occurs during Welcome Week" checkbox! Select the time and date(s) of your event and click "Next Step" to proceed.

  5. Review the information you submitted (notice "Welcome Week event" is listed in the bar below your event name) and you can also check the box to be notified by e-mail once your event is submitted. Click "Finish."


Using UM*Events also lets you return to edit your events at any time. To edit any event you have previously submitted, select "Submission History " from the menu on the main page.

The Office of New Student Programs will continue to publish a printed Program of Events for new students that highlight major campus events during Welcome to Michigan. The Program of Events will no longer list every Welcome event throughout the entire month of September. Events submitted through July 6, 2008 are eligible to be included in the printed program of events. This publication (in addition to the M-Planner) will refer students to UM*Events as a complete source for all Welcome to Michigan and other campus events.
