The University of Michigan recognizes the uniqueness of all individuals, especially service members and returning veterans. We understand that former and current military service members have unique needs and qualities that they bring to the University. These qualities include maturity, leadership skills, determination, commitment and a deeper understanding of the world. We encourage students who have served or are currently serving in the military to share their unique gifts and experiences with their fellow students, staff and faculty in order to further enrich the University and promote deeper discussions.- From the SVAP Brochure.
The Student Veterans Assistance Program invites Faculty and Staff of the University to join us on November 16th, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm in the Michigan Union, as we hear from student veterans and students serving in the military about their experiences on the U-M campus. Participants will also hear from campus experts and those from the Veterans Aministration who currently assist our students who have served in the U.S. military.
