Procedures for obtaining V.A. Education Benefits
Veterans (Montgomery GI Bill)
1. First time applicants who have never recieved benefits will need to bring a copy of their DD214 to Student Services and complete an "Application for Education Benefits" (V. A. form 22-1990).

2. If you have recieved benefits while attending another university or training program, a "Change of Program or Place of Training" form (V. A. Form 22-1995) will need to be completed.
3. If you have received benefits while attending University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) or have completed one of the two previous steps, a "Veterans Certification Enrollment Card" will need to be completed and submitted to Student Services prior to each term in which you desire to receive benefits.
4. On a monthly basis, you will need to verify your continued enrollment through W.A.V.E on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website. Payment will be deposited in the financial account you specified during initial application procedures and typically appear within a week of verification.
