Spring Term OrientationSpring Term orientation will be Monday, May 6, 2013. Any student starting classes at Michigan during the Spring Term must attend Spring Term Orientation. Spring Term Orientation will serve as an introduction to the University community, giving you a capsulated view of the variety of opportunities available to you. During orientation, you will complete all necessary procedures for class registration including placement testing, general information sessions, and academic advising. Orientation also gives you a chance to meet other new students.
Program Check InSpring Term Orientation Check In will be 8:00 - 8:20 a.m. at the Angell Hall "Posting Wall". Angell Hall is located at 435 S. State Street. Enter Angell Hall through the front doors (with the columns) and follow the signs to the check in area. Program ScheduleFollowing check-in, you will attend a welcome and information session, take language placement exams if necessary, go on a Campus Tour, talk to a panel of current U-M students, participate in academic advising from your school or college, and register for classes. The program will be completed by 6:00 p.m. Students should plan on being available for the entire day. Program Dates2013 Spring Term Orientation will take place on Monday, May 6, 2013. Spring Term Classes begin on Tuesday, May 7. If you cannot attend the Spring Term Orientation session, please call our office (734-764-6413) immediately to make other arrangements. What to Bring to OrientationPlease bring a copy of any CB or AP exam results, and your most recent college transcript (if applicable). You will receive a packet of campus-related information at orientation. You will also receive information specific to your school or college at group advising. Program FeesThe 2013 Spring Term Orientation fee has not yet been determined. This will be billed to your student account. AccomodationsWe are unable to provide housing during Spring Term Orientation. Should you need to stay overnight before or after your orientation program, please make arrangements prior to your arrival in Ann Arbor. You will find detailed information about accommodations on the Campus Information Center website. If you have a residence hall contract, you will be allowed to move into your residence hall prior to attending orientation. Contact the Housing Information Office for further information. Participants with DisabilitiesONSP will coordinate any arrangements you may need while on campus for orientation. Services include special testing and testing assistance, wheel chair accessible rooms, and refrigerators for medication. Mark the appropriate box when registering for orientation, and a member of our staff will contact you prior to your program to discuss your needs. You may also wish to contact the Office for Services for Students with Disabilities, G-664 Haven Hall, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1045; 734- 763-3000 (phone), 936-3947 (fax), or 615-6921 (TTY). RegistrationInformation regarding orientation will be sent to all students in mid-April via email, once the enrollment deposit has been paid. The orientation information includes detailed instructions on the registration process and you may register for orientation online at Wolverine Access. In order to register for orientation online, you will need your U-M uniqname and password. Information about your uniqname will be emailed to you by Information Technology Services (ITS) shortly after you pay your enrollment deposit. Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive confirmation of your assigned orientation date. Your confirmation letter will include specific information regarding check-in, travel and parking, and what to bring to orientation. If you misplace your confirmation letter, you may go online to Wolverine Access and print the confirmation page from there. |
