University Mentorship
How can I become a Communication Coodrinator? Gain leadership, event planning and facilitation experience and more as a University Mentorship Program staff member. This position begins in September with training dates during winter and spring. Only undergraduate students (rising sophomores, juniors or seniors) will be considered. Applications for CCs will be accepted annually beginning mid-November. ____________________________________________________________________________
Meet the Mentorship Staff
Lydia Middleton: Directs the University Mentorship Program and Transfer Connections.
Transition Specialist, ONSP Philip Larson: Supports University Mentorship Program; coordinates Transfer Connections and Student Veterans Assistance Programs. Conducts outreach to and raises awareness for student veterans.
Communication Coordinators (CCs): Mentorship Program student staff Communication Coordinators are current University of Mighican undergraduate students who use their mentoring and event planning experience to plan Mentorship monthly events, creating our weekly and monthly newsletters and oversee a core group of Peer and Faculty/Staff Mentors and Mentees. Through this role, CCs able to use their creative talents, draw from their own interests and expertise and gain valuable experience with event management, group facilitation and administrative assignments. Applications for this position are available each year from November-January, and the position begins the following September for the full academic year. Students do not have to be former peer mentors to apply, but experience with event planning, leadership and facilitation is preferred.
